a GREAT film

I am always a year or two behind when it comes to watching movies because I don't like to sit for 2+ hours in a movie theatre seat. So this morning I watched Blood Diamond while putting away the Christmas decorations and WOW was this movie amazing. I'm sure all of you have seen it but if not, I recommend it highly. What made this movie so intriguing to me was that I knew NOTHING about it before watching it. I didn't look it up on IMDB until after it was over so every single scene was a complete surprise. Fabulous job, Mr. Zwick. Keep these movies comin'!

I can't believe that you're already taking down your Christmas decorations! It's only the 27th, for Pete's sake! Mine stay up at least until after New Year's Day, you Scrooge!

I typically leave everything up until after New Year's day too but this year I am just overwhelmed with STUFF and clutter and can't look at them anymore. I haven't taken down the dead tree yet and I want to try and leave that up til New Years eve but it's a fire hazard if we put on the lights. I'm also leaving a mini fake tree with lights up in the family room and may even leave it up all year round and decorate it by season. And guess what else I need to do??? Another closet purge! I do this every year where I just get rid of half my shit and start fresh!

I hate sitting in the movie theatre for 2 hours too. I chalk that up to ADD.

Not a bad movie...but I'd definitely take The Departed over it.

..although..my post is about diamonds today...so I'm guessing it's timely.

On another note...

Are you on some weird DiCaprio binge?

I'm waiting for your review on Titanic and a critique on his appearance in the TV show "Growing Pains."

Hey Laura!

Next year you need to do the Christmas tree solution, ok? Besides helping it stay green and take up buckets of water per day, it also helps to make your tree inflammable. It's a great solution!

Also...please DO NOT throw ANY of your stuff away, ok? I will come up and get everything you don't want after your closet purge. I'm not kidding. I belong to the Girls Think Tank here in SD and we could use any of your super nice stuff for the women and young ladies we work with throughout the region. Let me know, ok?

Also, my sis is in town until the 4th. Any chance of all of us getting together?

Hey Chi-town...whaddup girlie!!!!??? I heard ya'll have some serious ICE and SNOW around da 'hood. :-) Can't wait to see you!

Miss you Laura!!!

Hey KBL: No worries, I NEVER throw my stuff away, we donate it to the Discovery Shop which is run by the American Cancer society and the Juvenile Diabetes Org. If I have any good stuff that may work for your group I'll put it aside.

moooooog35: LOVED Leo in Growing Pains, Titanic could have killed his career but thankfully didn't. IMO, his best work was What's Eating Gilbert Grape! Didn't even realize I was on a Leo kick til you pointed it out!
