Crappy Apples

Just got back from the grocery store and all the apples looked like shit! What's up with that? Is it just here or have other people noticed bad looking apples? I'm talking ALL the apples, from Pink Ladies, to Fuji (those were the WORST!) to Golden Delicious and Jazz. The only ones that were somewhat salvageable were the Grannies but those are too sour to snack on. I wonder if there's going to be an apple scare in the news shortly. Really sucks cuz I was craving some Fujis. Instead, I grabbed a box of Lucky Charms and called it a day. Btw, what happened to the Chocolate Lucky Charms? Do they not make those anymore?!? I can't find those rat bastards anywhere and damn were they good. Maybe I could just pour Chocolate milk into the regular charms and it would have the same effect. Something to ponder...

Wow my life is thrilling today.

Well the apples in Alabama aren't much better.. I found 3 good Fuji's this morning and that was all.. We are running over with peaches.. I'm so sick of damn peach's that I can't see straight!! I think it's the only fruit this damn hot ass state can grow!!!

I love cereal. My husband calls me and the kids "cereal-eatin'-fools". We go through at least 3 boxes per week. (No exaggeration.)

Lucky Charms, Rice Krispies, Fruity Pebbles, Apple Jacks, you name it, WE eat it. It's crazy.

My favorite time of year (cereal-wise) is Halloween, when the "monster cereals" come out.

As far as the fruit, that's kind of weird.... the produce here in the ATL has been really good.... blueberries, cherries, raspberries, strawberries, apples, melons, etc..... Summer harvest is still at its peak. :-)

Apples aren't the only thing lacking these days. I have yet to have a good peach in a handful of years. A really good one, not some mealy, tasteless mooshy thing. I think the problem is fruits today are just hybrids to fulfill Americans' demand to have EVERYTHING accesible to them at all times. Whatever happened to the anticipation of that first peach of the season, ripening on your countertop, and the pleasure of consuming that peach?

BTW, I LOVE cereal and could survive on cereal and bagels alone.

I miss my childhood.
