I have a really hard time remembering dates whether it be birthdays, anniversaries (even my own) or just the actual present day's date! I'm embarrassed to admit this happens a lot but since it happened again today, I'll share the experience.

I'm at the bank by our house (with no drive up window) so I head inside to do my business. I'm standing at the little island filling out my slip and I have absolutely no idea what the date is. I look at the date block thingy they have on the counter and I think, "Great. This thing is obviously wrong." I left my phone in the car so I'm not able to check that. So I leave the date blank and stand in line. When I approach the teller I say, "Is today the 30th or 31st? Wait, does April even have 31 days? I can never remember." He slightly raises an eyebrow and says rather loudly, "There's 30 days in April, but today is May 3rd." I'm literally speechless. I almost started to correct him and tell them to double check the date block on the counter but thank God I didn't. Instead I fill in the date and casually say, "Wow, I'm a little behind today." He smiles and laughs it off and continues with my transaction. I ask for a balance and while he's printing out my slip I say, "Tomorrow is already Cinco de Mayo." Then immediately after I say that, I realize cinco is the 5th, not the 4th so now I'm really making an ass out of myself and through broken laughs the teller retorts, "That would be, Saturday." Of course it is, I tell him. And of course he is of Spanish/Mexican descent so I know for a fact I'm going to be the butt of his dumb blonde/stupid gringo jokes all day long. And, as if it can't get any worse, as I leave I tell him, "Have a nice weekend." and yes, it's still Thursday.

May 3rd!! Who would've thought.

Ha Ha! You just made me think of that song, "'Cause I'm a Blonde!" Particularly that one line:

Right now I'm a freshman in my fourth year at UCLA but my goal is
to become a veterinarian cause I love children.

I mean that in a good way of course! We're good, right?
