Breaking News??

Why is this Breaking News??? As if we didn't KNOW who was going to be nominated.

Stuff like this bugs me.

I agree; Breaking News is now the most over-used, cheap trick on TV. We have seen them use it for a house-fire in a suburban community! Hello: that is sad, but it's local news. It's as if, after 9/11, the media found out how much money=viewership they can get by manipulating our fears. I don't like being manipulated, so I don't watch the TV most of the time!
Hope you are doing well...sending hugs your way.

I know. Just like when Barack accepted the nomination at the DNC....like no one knew it was going to be him? surprise, for the people under rocks I suppose.

doesn't she look like Tina Fey? and didn't you feel sorry for her poor baby who was manhandled all night instead of being in bed where he wanted to be?

I agree with Karen - "breaking news" is now a cheap ploy to get us all to tune in.

I'm pretty well done with the national mainstream media. (In fact, I remember learning about "yellow journalism" in high school, but unfortunately it seems to have made QUITE a resurgence now... sad, but true.)

So much that is on the news is not newsworthy, but is only for ratings and 'shock value'.

I get most of my news from NPR these days. The big 3 get very little of my time.

The Daily Show got it right:

"When the news breaks....we fix it."

I agree with happy Wife. I check out NPR for my news. All the other ones make me want to gag myself with a spoon.
